At the grand opening of the new Technology Center in Rimini in September of last year, SCM launched important novelties applied to its CNC machining centers, that were the subject of a dedicated training event: Maestro lab, the new CAD-CAM programming software and Cargo, the patented automatic system for loading and unloading doors and panels.
From a simple idea, to its transformation into wood; from the office directly to the machine, these solutions aim literally to inspire the mind and to empower the hand in order to increase productivity by making the most common operations as simple as possible.
Maestro lab is a state-of-theart CAD/CAM software for both office and machine use. Intuitive and dynamic, it offers an innovative homepage able to guide the operator even before starting programming. This space wants to give a clear view and the best user experience a customer can ask for.
Out of all the technical and design implementations by Maestro lab, we want to put the attention on the following essential aspects. First of all, the function of importing and managing layers, especially considering all those customers using external CAD software to draw.
Also, the new geometry tree is essential for individuals who regularly work with a large number of geometries. This tree simplifies the process of
identifying and selecting a geometry, while also setting aside a dedicated space for each element inserted into the project.
Another significant feature is the preview and multi-project view. It is now possible to open multiple projects simultaneously, allowing for seamless element copying between programs. This saves time by previewing pieces when selecting a program, reducing programming time.
Machine environment looks different too: now, equipping the machine worktable is much faster. It is not important to know the exact name of the suction cup of the clamp needed, but how it looks like will be more than enough. Last but not least, you can now switch the entire Maestro Lab software, to dark mode.
On the other ‘hand’ Cargo is the SCM’s groundbreaking automated system for loading and unloading doors and panels of various sizes. This solution is able to ensure the maximum productivity by offering patented pendulum processing, a capability exclusive to us in the market.
The system’s flexible arm allows continuous loading and unloading while the machine handles the operations. Although showcased on a morbidelli m200 CNC machining center during the September event, Cargo is already available on both accord 500 and accord 600 CNC solutions for solid wood machining.
This solution is fully automated, transforming the machining center into an autonomous cell and eliminating the need for continuous operator supervision. It excels in precision positioning, thanks to a prealignment system that aligns panels precisely in both X and Y axes, even against mechanical stops on the worktable.
Accessibility is another advantage, as both loading and unloading of the stack can be easily and safely accomplished with a forklift or pallet jack, guided by light signals indicating proper positioning. Furthermore, Cargo is seamlessly integrated, with programming managed entirely through the Maestro active HMI software. Users can activate the machining center without the automatic loading and unloading system with a simple click.
