Inspired by the unfiltered world of a child’s imagination, Sippy Cup is a new and exciting coffee shop located in Beirut, Lebanon. Designed by Delphine Gebran Interior Architect, the collective space is where their charming doodles come to life in a carefully curated interior concept. While a departure from Gebran’s typical style, the design lends the space a unique energy and liveliness, drawing on her own experiences as a mother of two.
Interplay of shapes: The evolving design of the interior
A structural masterpiece inspired by the Interplay of shapes. A visual symphony where geometric forms seamlessly blend in perfect harmony and invites contemplation. The interplay of these wooden shapes allow the guests to craft a visual narratives and evoke distinct emotions influencing the emotional response of the viewer. Circles convey warmth and friendliness while angular shapes can evoke a sense of energy or tension.
The space: A vibrant canvas
As you step through the door, you’re immediately greeted by a burst of playful shapes and vibrant colors setting the tone for an enchanting experience. The walls are adorned in a color palette straight from the kids’ drawings: pink, blues, yellows, and greens that pop with exuberance. The colors flow seamlessly, mirroring the energetic strokes of a child’s marker.
Merging Craftsmanship and Creativity
Stepping into this space is like entering a whimsical wonderland where creativity and craftsmanship merge seamlessly. The walls are adorned with custom-made perforated wooden panels that serve as a captivating canvas, filled with an array of intricately crafted wooden shapes that create a visually stunning and immersive experience.
This design choice is not merely decorative; it is an immersive and interactive experience that celebrates craftsmanship, creativity, and contributes to the overall well-being and development of the children. Every detail from entrance to the smallest corner was carefully custom made. A space where every moment is an adventure waiting to unfold. Some pieces feature hand-painted accents, directly inspired by the characters and shapes children have brought to paper.
The glass partitions invite spontaneous doodles and drawings. The bespoke perforated wooden walls allow for the rearrangement of playful shapes,fostering a sense of creativity and engagement. The furniture is a blend of functionality and whimsy contributing to the enchanting atmosphere. Tables and chairs boast rounded edges and soft contours, echoing the simplicity of your kids’ sketches.

The interior is a living canvas that evolves with each kid artistic stroke. a space where their imagination is not only acknowledged but also becomes an integral part of the design, creating an evolving interior filled with the love and joy of childhood creativity. Everything, from the height and stability of interactive installations to eliminating sharp edges or pinch points, has been designed to ensure children can enjoy their activities safely, which has quickly lead to Sippy Cup becoming a favorite spot for outings and playdates.
